360 Indoor Air is involved in the elimination of bed bugs and other pests using a "Green" system similar to that used for mould remediation.
The system is based on the use of 'dry' or 'super heated steam' which kills all bed bugs including eggs thereby eliminating 2 generations at once and completely breaking the breeding cycle.
Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) is the federal agency responsible for the regulation of pest control products in Canada. On it's website it confirms that steam cleaning is effective in killing bed bugs and fleas in all stages of their life cycle.
This process contributes to better air quality by reducing chemical residuals and removing airborne particles. The steam vapor consists of pure water and air with a moisture content of just 5%. Most soft furnishings and carpets are dry within 15 minutes and there is no residue. It is referred to as 'dry' stream as so little water is used and so little water is left behind.
The Dry Steam Procedure includes:
- Treating the mattresses & other upholstered furniture in the room identified with the problem
- Applying Dry Steam to the entire room with specific emphasis on those areas most like to house bed bugs (base boards, etc.)
- After treating the area with Dry Steam, the area is vacuumed thoroughly with HEPA vacuums to remove any particulate matter.
You do not have to isolate or close off rooms during or after treatment. The area is left fresh and can be used almost immediately unlike chemical pesticides which generally leave a smell.
